waxing wheels?

has anybody ever taken the time to wax their wheels? if so, did you see a difference? did it help with brake dust? did you use normal wax or something special? the wheels im thinking of waxing are black with a polished lip *i know* would waxing the lip hurt it? make it look better?

any feedback would be apprediated. thanks in advance guys.

if the face is painted go for it! hell i even wax my motorcycles helmet so it doesnt get scratched as bad

I wax my rims everytime I wash my integra. It makes cleaning them a 100X better and easier and helps clean some of the brake dust off. Do It, you'll love it.

ive always heard the wax will melt off the first time your brakes heat up.. but people tend to make stuff up on the internet, so who knows.

every detailing guide i've ever read says wash and wax your wheels...yes since there's brake dust, heat, and poor conditions on the lower end of your car it will wear down quicker but that's nothing reapplication wouldnt fix...
