Ok, i just bought my 96 integra, its an LS. I dont know if it has a stock alarm.. i did a search and it doesnt sound like it does, but it does have a keyless lock remote thing.
now, on to the problem...

sometimes when i leave my doors unlocked for a couple minutes, then open up the door to get in, the gauge cluster starts flashing and making this chiming noise from somewhere under the dash, by my feet. its pretty irregular and almost seems like a weird alarm is going off, but theres no horn beep, so if it is an alarm, its pretty worthless. While this is happening, im unable to start the car. The only thing that will make it stop is hitting the button on the keyless lock remote. The sound reminds me of something that would come on if you tried to get out of a car and left the lights on or something, just a chime to remind you, but nothing is left on that i can see. Its really weird, any insight? its not a huge problem, but its annoying, and kind of embarressing if other people are in the car.

 

I would have to say its a alarm.
My alarm does the same thing. Must be something with the keyless entry, having alarm features

 

any idea on how to fix it? the car didnt do this when i first bought it, it just started yesterday.

 

best bet is to call the manufacture of the keyless entry system
they would help you more than we can

 

so keyless entry isnt a stock option? I just assumed that the PO had purchased an aftermarket remote for the stock keyless entry.

I want to drop by my local acura dealer tomorrow anyway to pick up an oil filter, i'll ask them about it while im there..

but if anyone else has any experience with this, or any insight.. please help!
