Default About to order all of my fuel lines. Need a quick answer.

I am running a sumped tank, with a bosch fuel pump, 2 filters and a BDL fuel rail with an Aeromotive FPR.

Are the fittings that are actually threaded into these pieces supposed to be like this:

or like this:

I am assuming the first one but I am not 100% sure and I would like to order it all at the same time.

Also, if it is the first one are most of yall using fittings like these (with o-rings) or just the ones shown above with no o-ring.

Thanks.

With my Aeromotive FPR I used the ones in the second pic.... I also used the second one on my fuel rail, but that is an AEM. For my sump I welded on a -12AN male so I can't help you there.

the first one piectured is an npt to an adapter, the 2nd one is a bulhead fitting and the third is just an oringed fitting for where something doesnt have a taper

EDIT: THIS IS J-BROOKS

Probably aeromotive filters.

I know what each of them are. But on websites, they don't specify whether they take -an fitting or not. Like the bdl says it has a 3/4'' opening but doesn't say whether eyou should should use like an -8an fitting or a 3/4'' ----> -8an (or 10an) fitting.

I am probably using a full race sump so it already has the bung welded. thats not a problem. I suppose the aeromotive uses the unions to on all there stuff so that takes care of the sump, filters, and fpr. I am assuming that the pump also uses the union.

I guess I just really need to know about the fuel rail. ANyone use a BDL/STR Fuel rail?

-an to inch is what ever number divided by 16 so
-8an = 1/2
-3an = 3/16
-4an = 1/4
-6an = 3/8
-10an = 5/8
-12an = 3/4
-14an = 7/8
-16an = 16/16 = 1
-18an = 18/16 = 1 1/8
etc.

as for fittings ask your supplier, my aem rail is -6an i think bdl is -8an but not for sure just have seen them on cars and never installed one so i am probably wrong.

-6AN thread is 9/16" x 18 and -8AN thread is 3/4" x 16

I don't really remember seeing any internal seats on most fuel rails and the Aermotive FPR's to seal on a flare.

To my knowledge, you should use AN o-ring port to AN flare adapters on fuel rails and the Aeromotive FPR's.

Fuel filters usually have male AN flare ends, but if they don't you should probably use o-ring port to AN flare adapters as well. If you can't make heads or tails of it, the give away is that o-ring adapters will have a countersunk seat for the o-ring on whatever piece you're installing a fitting on.

the 1st and third pics you posted are dissimilar. first is an NPT thread, which is tapered to seal it. third is a metric probably thread which seals via the oring.

i think you really need to get someone to help you since you dont really know what youre doing.

its cool. A simple call solved it all.

With out having products in hand, or websites listing what they need it is hard to know exactly what I am supposed to be buying. Thanks to Stan and the "suggested parts" tab @ summit I figured out everything thing I needed.

I didn't NOT know what I was doing. I was just uninformed of somethings and could find the answers. But thanks.
