Default Brakes.. NEED HELP!!

Before Anything.. Thanks in advance

ok so heres the deal.. i bought a 92 civic si.. the previous owner put a vx motor and brakes in.. he forgot to switch the porportioning valve...

car came home and sat for a few weeks.. he sent me the correct porportioning valve.. i put it on.. bleed the brakes.. and before the car is started it feels like it has brakes.. when i start.. they go all the way to the floor with little / to no resistance.. and no brakes..

if i pump them it changes the idle so i was thinking a vaccum line? or maybe a mastercyclinder..

ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME

Thanks AGAIN

Man, you need to get used to being more specific on here, otherwise you just sound like every other noob here in the EG+ forum. First off what do U mean he switched the brakes? He put discs in the rear? He put 10.2" front brakes in? Both perhaps? If you have a rear disc setup now, then good, you have the prop valve already, so you are a little bit ahead, but you aren't done yet. You dont need a master cylinder necessary, but it helps with the pedal feel. You said you have no brakes at all, so I think you need to check the big vacuum line that goes from the intake manifold to the brake booster, also the check valve (which is inline with that big vacuum line should be inspected, although that almost never is the problem. It may be on back wards hehe, for all you know. Just remember, that the booster needs vacuum for it to have "power brakes". So give your setup first, then we can clarify.

sounds like you have either a leak in the system or air. All the booster will do is make it easier to push the pedal down. If the booster had a leak all that would happen is the pedal would feel harder to push, like if the car wasnt on and you pumped the pedal, it would feel like that with the the car running.

ok sorry for the unclear description..

my car is an si.. unfortantley when the previous owner did the vx swap, he changed the back brakes to drums and the front brakes tot he vx discs. he sent me the vx proportioning vavle.. I put it on.. bleed the brakes.. and then when i start the car.. the pedal has little to no resistance and no stopping power.. when the car is off.. the pedal seems to FEEL like it has brakes.. but then goes away when i start the vechile..

any other comments / help would be awesome

thanks

ok.. now its a little different.. after you read the thing above.. now the brakes work.. but not until they all the way to the floor.. does this hint me to the master cyclinder?
