help me to decide pls: 195/50/15 or 205/50/15 Bridgestone Potenza S03
i need new tires.
tireracks are still doing special on 195/50/15 Potenza S03
4 for $300 shipped.
but the 205/50/15 cost a lot more...4 for 500 bucks shipped.
does the 205 worth the money? much better than 195 on performance and comfort of ride?
or i should go with 195 and save some bucks?
thx a lot

I've read where some people have used the 195/50 tires and love them. this is on type Rs. for the sale price, I don't think you will go wrong. if you look at the spec sheet on tire rack, you'll see the s03 width is almost the same as other brands 205s. I'd say go with the 195s. good luck.

195/50 is too small, your speed/odo will be off alot (mine is off 5mph at 70 even w/ 205/50).
I have the 195/50/15 and i got it from tirerack (sale) as well. It's been great so far, no complaints. I use it mainly for autox. IMO get the 195, my speedo is off a bit but i don't mind at all.

so how about Falken Azenis 205/50/15 a better alternative than S03 195?
thx
thx
so...is 205 50 VR15 FALKEN AZENIS ....
the one you guys always talked about?
i find them 4 for 330 shipped.
so 195/50 S03? or 205/50 AZENIS?
same price though.....
my care is a little too low....then is 205/50 the better choice?
which one of them will last longer?
which one does performan better in wet condition?
thx a lot

205/55/15 is just a TAD bit bigger than stock.
to get a better idea...i used
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
this helps out TREMENDOUSLY.
check it out....
when comparing 195/55/15 (stock) with 205/55/15
it says:
"speedometer reading with non-stock tire is 1.8% percent too slow...
when your speedometer reads 60mph, you are actually traveling 61.1 mph."
when comparing 195/55/15 (stock) with 205/50/15
it says:
"speedometer reading with non-stock tire is 1.6% percent too fast...
when your speedometer reads 60mph, you are actually traveling 59 mph."
I PERSONALLY HAVE PIRELLI P6000 205/55/15.
DURING HARD TURNS THE CAR HANDLES ALOT BETTER AND WHEN
I LAUNCH, MY TIRES DON'T SPIN AS MUCH (BIGGER CONTACT PATCH)
THE RIDE IS SMOOTHER WITH THESE TIRES...
AS MY CAR IS CLOSE TO STUPIDLY SLAMMED
*CUZ I JUST GOT IT AND IT CAME WITH CHEAPO COILOVERS*
I'D SAY MY DROP IS ATLEAST A BIT OVER 2 INCHES.
AND THE COILOVERS ARE AT THEIR HIGHEST POINT....
NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE RIDE WITH THE STOCK TIRES WAS HORRIBLE.
NOW, MY RIDE IS ALOTTT SMOOTHER, MORE TRACTION, CAR DOESN'T
SWAY AS MUCH DURING HARD TURNS, BETTER GRIP DURING WET
WEATHER, AND HANDLES BUMPS ALOTTT BETTER.
for that reason, i do not recommend 195/50/15...
i'm assuming if you don't have a stiff as suspension, you'll feel
your car sway a lil more...you'll have a smaller contact patch,
the tires might wear faster *because a smaller size tire can only
handle a smaller weight load than the stock tires*
the ride will be a little rougher, and the only advantage i could
probably guess is the tire will be a TAD lighter.
wow.
get the 205/50/15 is my opinion.
i woulda got those if my car wasn't so low.
yes i have a 2 door 2000gsr btw.
