Found a 99 Prelude w/ 142k miles - too high?? Potential buyer
Hey guys,
I've always liked Prelude styling and wanted one. I found a silver 99 w/ 142k miles, 5sp manual. it's in good condition for its age. Timing belt, clutch, power steering pump, brakes, water pump have been replaced as are fluid changes.
I'm looking to keep the car til at least 200k miles. Is it uncommon to get 200k out of a prelude? Are preludes generally as reliable as Civics or Accords? I'm sure insurance will be higher, but what about maintenance costs?
Thanks..!

My stock h23 is sittin on 208k and is just now showing signs of wear... but still rons pretty strong. Maintenance doesn't cost that much more if any than the other honda's at least that I've noticed
As long as you take care of the car and do all the required maitenence, that car will last forever....My dad 97 4Runner has 270xxx miles on it right now and still running pretty good.
to the original poster, dont let this scare you away, for some reason it had some crank walk and it was noticed before something could happen
