August issue of Car and Driver...
has a report on this year's One Lap of America, in which an '06 Si fitted with a JRSC, RC injectors, AEM CAI, Exedy flywheel and clutch, and some suspension work took first in it's class (Economy) and 4th Place Overall!
Not a bad finish, considering the field included a few Nobles, a 650hp Hennessey Viper, a few 'Vettes, a Porsche 911 Turbo, etc...
For those unfamiliar with the One Lap competition, it consists of a series of timed track events (17 this year), with a route of 3932 miles in between that all competitors have to drive and complete. No support vehicles are allowed, and all entries must be street-legal (as they have to be driven between events).
In a nutshell, a lot of the faster cars were victims of mechanical problems, so the Si's combination of speed and reliability were key in bringing home the strong finish.
