my question is why the 6th generation coupe back lights and body style completely different than the ones found on the 6th generation Sedan version. was there ever a 6th generation accord coupe that had the same back tail lights and body styles that the 6th generation sedan has?

personally i think it would look better. just my opinion

 

No, the rear ends were always completely different.

 

the accord coupes for 1998-02 borrowed their styling ques from the NSX on thier tail lights

 

yeah...just thought it was somthing to ask cause all the other generations between sedans and coupes looked the same.

 

i prefer the 6th gen coupe tail light over the sedan

no, they do it since 6th gen, look at the 7th gen now

 

yeah i ment to say 5th generation and back.

 

It's quite simple. They wanted the coupe to look different than the sedans since they wanted a younger demographics for the coupe. The prev. Accord coupe still looked like a sedan from many angles so the need for differentiation from the 6th gen. and on. I can't imagine the 6th gen. coupe with a sedan rear-end. And I don't think anybody has ever wanted to do it that way too. But I also don't think the coupe rear end has been modded to be put on the sedan either.
