when i was going a block down the road to a gas station to get some full throttles. When i was coming back i pulled out gave her a lil gas and went just a lil bit over the speed limit (still getting use to how slow the speedos are) and i look in my mirror and see a cop pullin out onto the road and he's got his lights on. He came from a lil further down the road from where i pulled out. So i see him coming and i'm like **** am i really gonna get pulled over for goin a lil over the speed limit. Soo i keep driving and there's a Mc D's right there so pulled in there to see if he follows me in there and then i know he's comin after me. So i pull in and so does he some i'm like oh crap, here we go. I pull into a parking spot and i'm just worried as hell because i cannot afford to be gettin pulled over in this car cause i haven't been pulled over in over 3 years when i was young and dumb and i lost my license for a year. Know that i'm in good terms again with my insurance company i wanna keep it that way. Well i'm sittin here and the cop walks up and and is like i pulled you over cause u don't have ur lights on. And i'm like oh **** i forgot and of course he's like have u been drinking or nething and i'm like no and then he says well do ur lights work soo i turned them on and then he asks for my information and goes back to his car for like 15 mins then he finally comes back and is like the dispatch is bein real slow tonight so i'm just gonna let u go. And he knows i'm military soo he asks like where do i work on base and he says well i'm sure u don't have any warrants or nething on u soo i'll let u go. But damn that scared the **** out of me, LOL.

Well here's my excuses to y i didn't turn my lights on: I've only had the car for 2 days and i'm still getting use to it cause my truck has automatic lights which i never have to turn on and also the fact that the civics dash lights are on all the time. When i would drive my wifes old car atleast the dash lights weren't on soo u would know that ur lights weren't on cause u couldn't see the gauges. And i'm sure you other city ppl know that with street lights all around it's not hard to not notice that ur lights aren't on. But man i'm going to have to be more careful and make sure my lights are on. Anyone else had this problem?

the road wasn't dark enough for you to notice the lights weren't on? I know we got DRLs but they're not that bright

Well gas stations are bright soo i didn't notice it then and when i was drivin i was concentratin on the speedo and tach and then i noticed the cop so i never got a chance to notice it. I honestly can't believe i forgot to turn them on. I would've noticed it as soon as i turned down the road to go to my apartment cause that road is dark.

 

I did the same thing when I first got the car... No worries.

Yeah, it sure does look like one. And if ur tryin to be and *** and can't believe that someone would post about somethin like that then u haven't really looked at the other threads in the forum. I just wanna know if anyone else has had that problem and apparantly they have. Just keep ur comments to urself and let ppl say what they wanna say. I've bit my tongue on alot of posts in thes forum i'm sure alot of other people have to. It's not like this is another one of those repetetive posts that come up once a week. The whole auto lights thing is somethin i wish they would've put on our cars but Canada got it and we got screwed. I don't see the point in our gauges being lit up when our headlights aren't on. Whats the point if u can't see the lights during that day neways. I know the only way u can see the speedo, fuel, and temp is by them being lit up but what is the tach lit up during the day. If ur tach was dark without ur lights on it would make it easier to remember to turn ur lights on. And don't knock on this topic cause i'm sure everyone's forgot to turn their lights on atleast once cause of a well lit area where u can see fine already.

 

Your right, i'm sure people have forgotten to turn their headlights on before. However..you dont see them making a post about it now do you? And i've bit my tongue too, there are to many stupid *** threads in here. So finally I will speak out just like you have done.

I think this thread is a little funny. Last I checked your car came with DRL's which are one when the car is on. Sounds like the cop just pulled you over to mess with you.

 

Well the cop came from behind me soo he saw no tail lights and he was really pulling me over cause he said drunks forget to turn their lights on, he was hopin for a DUI.

Yeah see i thought it was kinda funny after it happened and i just wanted to let evryone know to make sure u turn on ur lights cause unless u can't see without them u won't notice.

 

i did the same thing, we pulled into a 24 hour car wash, but ended up not doing it, so as we were leaving, i clicked on the lights twice, meaning my interior lights and side markers were on, no head lights, and i saw 2 cops up the road with their lights on so i was driving really slow, and as we pass them, both follow me, and i was just like...wtf.., and then he told me they wernt on...i didnt even notice. the cop effed the ticket up pretty bad, and i got it back in december i think, and i ahve not gotten anything in the mail yet...

 

well, the bottom line is, you got lucky getting out of that ticket.
