Using old pads with new rotors

I have a set of Hawk HP pads that have been used for about 6 months, still have plenty of meat on them. Should i do anything with the pads to ensure proper break in of the rotors ?

You could take some medium grit sand paper and make sure they're completely flat. I wouldn't bother doing anything though, unless you plan on going straight to the track
