So i have taken the inside panels off the car, unscrewed the cap and the whole antenna motor is out of the car. But the old broken antenna is still attached to the unit. How can i take it out? The it pretty much broke off from the base of the antenna.

 

will the top of the antena unscrew ???
i did that last year and already forgot ....

I may be misunderstanding you but i think that you need to remove the old mast and cable. You will need to take the cover off of the antenna motor and remove the spool. You will see the old cable in there. Just take it out and throw it away. You will need a new mast and cable assembly. Reassemble the motor and put it back in the car. Have someone turn on the antenna and then turn it off. When it is turned off feed the new cable into the hole and it should feed down into the motor. Start the nut onto the antenna and go up and down a few times and tighten the nut the rest of the way down and you are done. Should take about 10 minutes.
