Hi all,
Just curious as to everyones opinion of the 3rd gen Prelude, specifically the 91 model year. I might be getting the chance to pick up a very clean chassis with blown motor soon.
I've been having trouble finding what engine code this year uses however. All I would want to do is find another stock block to drop in it (although an H22 is tempting ). Thanks in advance

there are two choices for that generation. the b20a5 (2.0 135 hp 127 ft lbs tq) and the b21a1 (2.1 140hp 135 ft lbs tq). with modification to the oxygen sensors you can put in either motor into that car. the wiring harnesses for both motors are interchangable. the only difference is the 2.1 has one o2 sensor near the flexpipe and the 2.0 has two o2 sensors at the front of the manifold. if you really want the better motor, go with the 2.1.

 

i had a 3rd gen prelude, along with a 2nd and two 4th gens, and i personally think 3rd gens are phat. if you found a good deal go for it bro.
oh, may i also suggest a VTEC conversion or a turbo from http://www.ludespeed.com ???
H22 swap is too much hassle and money for that car, and you'll be faster turbo'd.

Sweet! Thanks both of you for the information. I beleive in 91 the only option was the b21a1 so I'm going to go with that one anyways.

Now next question is where to find one cheaply?
