Default Crossing Clusters

Well, I've got a 91 hatch DX (IOW, no tach) and an 88 Rex Si (IOW...it's got a tach). I wanna get the tach in the civ, and eventually put a JDM cluster in the rex...so I checked today to see if it was direct bolt in. Well...it bolted in...but the electrical was ALL wrong, and alas, no working tach.

Anyone know what I can pull a cluster from to be direct bolt in? Or shoot me a wiring diagram? I'd prefer direct bolt-in...

90-91 hatchback/CRX/sedan/wagon clusters plug in and work.

There have been threads about this in the past. If you have both cars just match the wires up and repin. try search to see what you find.

When you figure out what you need let me know. I have a few 88-89 + 90-91 cluster parts around.

Off the top of my head, did you try swapping the green wiring panel on the back? Did your non tach green panel have leads for a tach?

This should be your answer. Just repin your plugs to match the crx cluster wiring.

Chimpo, if the 90-91 tach cluster is direct plug-and-play, I might take one of your hands...how much are you asking?

CRX, dude, that is a CLEAN swap with the new Si cluster. Your information helped tremendously. I may consider the 99 Si swap for the CRx. As for the civic (the car I wanna get a tach in) it'll be going AutoCross, so I don't wanna spend the money for all that. However, the CRx may get that swap...

And to he who said search...I did a little searching, but didn't see quite what I was looking for, but I KNEW it was out there. CRX found it. I'd seen that page in the past, and just couldn't find it.

Thanks, everyone!

Sorry, I left out a response or two. No, I hadn't tried swapping the green boards in the back of 'em, can this be done without damaging anything? I hadn't even thought to do that.

No, it didn't have a tach lead that I saw...I'll look again next time I pull it all out...probably be on the fourth.

Thanks again, everyone

I couldnt find it by searchign either, but luckily, I had it in my favorites. I swapped a 94 gsr cluster into my crx. Looks great and matches the gsr cd player perfectly. I'm only having problems getting my speedo working, but thats just a simple wiring issue I think...or my electronic vss is shot...
