From: So Cal....yes, i know, ca, USA
so top gas pumps are chevron, mobil, shell, 76, what do you guys prefer for 91 octane?..
are all the same?..people have told me to look for the best gas to try different ones to see which gas feels better
ive been putting mobil 91 octane with a gallon of toluene
lately (always), but said that chevron "with techron" cleans your exhaust valves and what-not...

Chevron with TECHRON FTW!
I only use 83 octane or whatever is unleaded
edit: Oh yea, I switched from Arco not to long ago and I'm not getting as much mileage as I should...? weird :X maybe I should use arco again or something I dunO!

Chevron is what i use when i'm not in town, but locally we have this place called diamond shamrock... i get about 15 - 20 more miles per tank than chevron and its usually about 10 cents less

all i know is last summer, i filled up with regular 87 at speedway right before taking a 275 mile trip up north. when i left to come home, i filled up at a BP in the middle of nowhere. my mileage was 31 on the way up there... and 38 on the way back! nonrformulated gas FTW!
HONDA ENGINES, ALONG WITH MOST JDM ENGINES, ARE ALL TESTED IN THE LABS USING HIGH OCTANE (93) FUEL. THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO RUN THIS FUEL TO OPTIMIZE ALL ASPECTS (IE. FUEL MILAGE, LONGEVITY, POWER, ETC). CUTTING CORNERS ON COST BY BUYING LOWER OCTANE FUELS ACTUALLY CAN HURT YOUR POCKET-BOOK BUY YOUR CAR GETTING WORSE FUEL CONSUMTION AND THUS COSTING MORE.
EXAMPLE YOU FILL YOUR 8 GALLON TANK UP WITH 89 OCTANE AT $2.50 A GALLON AND GET (LET'S SAY) 22 MPG. 8 g x 22 MPG = 176 MILES PER TANK
93 OCTANE = $2.80 A GALLON AND YOU GET 26 MPG. 8 g X 26 MPG = 208 MILES PER TANK.
TAKE WHAT YOU WOULD GET WITH 93 (208) SUBTRACT BY 176 AND YOU GET: 32 MILES YOU COULD OF GONE (FARTHER) IF YOU WOULD OF USED 93 OCTANE.
32 MILES DIVIDED BY YOUR MPG (22) WITH 89 OCTANE = 1.6 GALLONS (MORE YOU WOULD NEED)
1.6 GALLONS x $2.50 (PRICE OF 89 OCTANE) = $4.00 MORE YOU SENT TRYING TO SAVE $2.40 CENTS ... YOU MAKE THE CALL
YOU CAR WILL ACCERATE BETTER, RUN SMOOTHER, AND PRODUCE LESS EMISIONS IF YOU BUY THE FUEL PRESCRIBED BY THE EXPERTS (HONDA ..OF COURSE).
I MIGHT NOT BE UP TO DATE ON GAS PRICES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY DUE TO THE FACT I'VE BEEN DEPLOYED OVERSEAS FOR 6 MONTHS... SORRY I THE PRICES MIGHT BE LOW.
SOMEONE PLEASE READ MY THREAD QUESTION ABOUT ECU PIGGY BACK SYSTEMS AND GIVE ME SONE INSIGHT OF WHAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR MY 92 GS-R (B17A1) DRAG PROJECT. DATE POSTED: 2:48 PM 6/28/2006

I uswed it for a while, but I got shitty gas mileage, like 250-270 miles on a tank
now I get about 300-310 on a tank in city and freeway
the safeway in my town failed their octane rating test so I never fill up there anymore

Remember, the GS-R and Type R are recommended for use with premium gasoline (91 octane or higher - which means 91 octane in the West, 93 octane in the rest of the country). The other Integra models just need regular (87 or higher).

quegringo92GSR T-BOd...... calm down man. First we don't need all the yelling. Second, if you are still running around with your factory motor, then take a look at your gauge cluster and see what it says. Mine says "premium unleaded fuel only" And that's what I use. My buddies DC4 says "unleaded fuel only" there all he has to use is 87.
If you run premuim fuel in a car not designed for it there will be excess un-burnt fuel because the car does not have the compression to properly burn all of the fuel
this will cause you cat and o2 sensors to foul out faster and will hurt your emissions readings when you smog your car in CA
