Default GS-R rattling noise

I was driving my gs-r tonight and I started hearing a noise. It is like a rattling noise coming from right behind my motor. When I am driving down the road it sounds like something is scraping the ground, but there is nothing hanging down. I don't know what it could be. Anyone have a clue?

Make an attempt to figure it out yourself by jacking up the car and take a look at it before creating a thread. No know can really give you a definite answer by your question.

heatshields around the cat could be rattling, or the exhaust downpipe could be the culprit. If it was coming from the front of the engine then it could also be the exhaust manifold heatshield.

edit: oh yeah is it a constant rattle or only at certain RPM's like 3000-3500?

First of all why are there people who take tiume to say smart comments like the first guy. What a jerk.
No it is a constant rattle throught all rpms. Could it be the timing belt? Thanks for your comment though.

How would a timing belt rattle? Did you mean it's making a taping sound from the engine like somepart is touching something when you gas the car?

If it is a rattling sound, then something is not tighten all the way.. Air is escaping so it rattles.. check your exhaust, intake manifold and so on where air can come out

If it's coming from behind the engine like you say then my guess would have to be something from the exhaust. Most likely the heatshields around the cat will break loose alittle to cause a metal on metal rattle.

I just got 2 1/2 inch piping a magnaflow cat and a new resonator about a week ago. I had trouble with it vibrating my seats and stuff so I took it back yesterday and the mechanic had to put a rubber piece where the mounting brackets were. I guess I will just take it back to him and get him to look at it. Thanks for ur help.
