High miles... Should I seafoam?
I have an 89 DX Hatch that is completely stock, automatic with 198,000 miles. I have been reading wonders about seafoam but some people say that it can cause some leaks by removing sludge that is blocking places where leaks have formed. What is the experience with high mileage engines? Will it screw up my O2 sensor? I know I might need new spark plugs and I know how to use it, just unsure if I should or not!
Thanks!!!
*EDIT*
I have searched and everyone either doesn't list their mileage or has like 150K or such.

So I went along and did the seafoam. I sucked like 1/4 of it through the booster line, then shut it off. Then I put like half in the oil and another 1/4 in the gas. It smoked a lot at first but only for like 30 seconds. I then changed the oil. I didn't see anything clumpy come out. Oh well, I did notice that it seems to be a little quieter at idle and a little smoother. The acceleration didn't seem faster but not so jumping when shifting and such. I dunno, that is my experience. I think I should have used more in the intake and such so I can't wait til next time!
Do it!!!

i used it in my old 72 pontiac catilina and it ruined the engine. the oil pressure dropped to nothing. then again it was probly the best thing that happened to that car. i rebuilt the engine for performance. was getting 8 miles to the gallon by the time i was finished with it. also the reason for selling it. best amercian car i ever owned.

yeah you cant use seafoam on all engines,,cause seafoam gets rid of the carbon and on some engines the carbon is the only thing keeping it alive
i used it on my b16 ,,it worked out ok for me but everyone in newark hated me for a while..(cause of smoke)

speaking of smoke, can you get pulled over/get a ticket for driving with mad smoke coming out of your exhaust as the carbon burns off? does it work the same if you park and rev vs. spirited driving?
