Temperature Control Lever Doesn't Move

Yea so like the title says it doesn't move. A friend of mine told me it was probably the thermostat, so I changed that and I still can't move it. I'm afraid to try and push real hard and end up breaking something. If it matters at all, I just put my head back on after having a broken exhaust valve and it worked fine before then.
Are you talking about your temperature gauge? If so it sounds like your coolant temp sensor isn't plugged in on the side of the cylinder head.

No not the temp guage. On the climate control, to control the hot and cold air coming out of the vents. I can't move that.
