quick question, search to no avail , need car running asap

quick question, search to no avail , need car running asap
i want to check the connections inside my dizzy but when i take off the cap there is a plastic shield covering everything, i dont really want to just break it off so how do i go about removingn the plastic shield, i see no screws or anything :S help plz
