Default Daily commuter tires

I drive a 2000 Civic DX hatch, and have recently picked up a set of Integra LS mesh rims to mount. I am looking for a tire that will provide characteristics that many here probably aren't all that concerned with.

Gas mileage- I drive 30 miles one way to work.

Rain traction

Longevity- I have no plans to Auto-x or track this car, it is strictly a daily driver.

With those attributes in mind, what do people recommend? And what size? The stock on the civic are 185-70-14, so do I size -1 at 195-60-15, or match the stock integra size at 195-55-15. Or 195-60-15?

The tires will never be used in snow, I have seperate rims and tires for winter.

Thanks!

My buddy loves his 195/50/15 Fuzion tires on his daily driver ls mesh wheels. They're fairly cheap too.

if you want a good tire, I wouldn't go with the Fuzion, I would go with the Kumho SPT in a 195/55/15. SPT is a very good tire. It has very good wet traction and as a good treadwear.

As for gas mileage, you really just have to make sure that they are properly inflated.

Ill get back to you on the price.

The SPT is 62 $ in 195-55-15 and the second best would be the Yokohama ES100 at 63$.

The Dunlop DZ101 is good to but not as good as the 2 above.

The stock size on your car is 185/65-14, not 185/70-14. You want to match the outer diameter of the stock size of your car. The best size to do that is 195/55-15. Not because it's the stock size for the wheel, but because it's the best matching size for your car.

i had yoko avid v4s on my 03 si.

500aa/a rating.

i drive 100 miles daily, so i wanted something that had high treadwear rating, but had a little bit of performance too.

With the Avids, you get the treadwear rating, but not the performance (unless you really mean "a little bit of performance" - a VERY little bit ).

Also, the Avid V4S isn't available the smaller size he needs.

195-50-15's or 195-55-15 would be the best 2 options on your car.

Since you do a lot of driving and don't to a lot of hard driving, and if money isn't much of an issue, your best bet would be the BF Goodrich Traction T/A's. Best all season tire out their, you can beat up on them if you want but they are awesome in rain, and for your daily driving.

195/50-15 is too small for a 2000 Civic hatchback. 195/55-15 and 205/50-15 will both work okay.

The Traction T/A is a truly crappy all-season tire. And anyone who has a separate set of winter tires doesn't need all-season tires.

Please stop posting bad advice that is totally inappropriate to the needs of people who are asking what to get.

what's up with that guy and his damn BFG tires?

EDIT: for the confusion: all the posts he's ever made was about getting BFG tires.

Sorry about the size confusion, I realized right after I walked by my car that I had the original sizes completely wrong.

I really was just looking for something that would give me good rain traction and last 40-60k. I guess the SPT will be the direction I am headed. Unfortunately, it looks like I am buttonhooked into buying some sort of "performance" tire strictly due to the size constraints.

Thank you all for your help, and more suggestions are welcome!

But you will be happy, I can assure you that much. When you see how the car will feel with those tires you will be very happy certainly in the rain. That is why I am ordering mine this week.
