I'm running 5W30 on my stock ls motor.... would 10W30 be too thick.. it's synthetic (royal purple) i have a chance to get my hand on it real cheap... let me know.. ive heard 10w30 is better on older motors and for winter driving

 

How many miles are on it? if there like 80k or higher i would switch to 10w30

if no, yeah use 10w-30. because 5w is too thin that oil might leak.

10w30 and 5w30 are the same weight at operation temsp hense the (30), on cold start ups and temps the (5w) is thinner that the (10w)
