Default all motor or turbo?

some of the people say that all motor is better than turbo. some of the people say that turbo is better cause you get boost than all motor...humm...made me confuse which one is better to get....what do you think? whole kit of turbo? or one fast motor? if you going to cheap way what you gonna get to make your car fast enough to freeway. d16 not enough power to speed up quick. you dont even feel any power at all...what about d16 turbo? you think its fast? humm tell me whats the best for the turbo and for all motor?

you will get more street credibility in my eyes and alot of other people if you go all motor but going all motor in a d series i wouldnt say would be the best thing and its def. not the cheapest, and going boost would be cool i guess since not many people do it to a single cam, and it depends if its your every day driver or not if so i wouldnt do anything to major to the motor and i really wouldnt boost an every day driver either so i dunno what ever you want to do

Do what you want, it's your car, your money.

......

altho to answer your question--and completely my opinion--after driving both i like all motor just a little bit more. I dunno, to me, when i hear turbo i think exaggerated power, which it is because turbo increases power and nearly an exponential rate. But to beat that without a turbo... to me that's a stronger statement.

.....

but what do i know or what do people care that's just an opinion....

you hardly make sense.

and keeping it all motor or going turbo, isnt a choice anyone else can make for you. It's a personal preference so i guess you'd have to expierence both before you could make a choice.

But money wise, turbo is probably cheaper. Unless you want to do all the labor yourself, which most of us do.

In my head, going turbo is still keeping it all motor. But thats just me?

i driven both, and i prefer boost. Boost is more bang for the buck.

from what ive heard, all motor is more reliable than turbo

if this will be your daily driven set up, i would go for all motor. yes it will cost more in the long run, but it all depends on what you're going after.

sure ive seen turbo daily drivers, but more times than not, the all motor car will be more reliable than the turbo car.

if you want to stick with the d16, then go turbo. if you blow it, im sure you can find another dseries to throw in there.

i rode in a turbo integra that puts down 220hp 200tq and i have a 217 hp all motor hatchback. the turbo feels faster but i can still beat the turbo integra. i like the quick throttle respnse. but then again, all motor is expensive

I had the same dillema. Im just going to build the **** out of my LS/Vtec setup and i I dont like all motor im throwing a turbo into the mix. im shooting for 450 - 600ish HP over a year long engine build.

question, are forged rods and bearings a must if you plan on boosting or is it "optional"

??? who said anything about being rich?

you gotta be rich to boost? im a fucken poor college student. if i was rich i woulda been done with my build already.

boost = less $$$ more HP
NA = more $$$ less hp

And thats why all the guys who dump twice as much money into N/A applications only to get walked by boosted guys feel dumb.

Boost > NA. No ifs ands or buts about it. Forced induction is the cheapest, easiset way to get a Civic faster.

yeah it does equal smaller power at full boost, but it has reduced lag/spool time... and if he's going to be running a stock d16 (assuming this because we're looking at cost as well) he won't be needing a huge turbo anyway
