I got a 06 Accord, 290 miles on it, I've been hearing a knocking sound and I'm a bit concerned with it. I noticed it recently, I've gotten new gas recently as well, I'm thinking it's connected to that, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

yea, it sounds like metal being hit rapidly, I'm taking in tomorrow, I just wanna know a bit about it before I go in

 

dont v6 take premium gas?? If it does and you put 87 then it will ping, my prelude pings like crazy with 87 but it was put in by accident.

 

I'm driving a 4 cylinder

 

detonation perhaps???? put 92 octane in it and a can of octane booster and see if it goes away???? its under warrenty so you have nothign to worry about..does this only occur at low RPMs or throughout????? be alittle more specific dood

 

V6 and I4 only require 87 octane


I would have the dealer check it out... a knocking noise is a lot different than the pinging noise caused by detonation.

 

I know the difference..but the OP is being vague??? I was just throwing stuff out there!!

 

you should be careful throwing things online, you could put an e-eye out.

I havn't driven one yet that pings. So yes you may want to take it to a dealer and have them check it out. Just be sure to give them exacting circumstances where the problem WILL occur so that can have a better chance of them duplicating it.
