My car ( 1999 Honda, Accord, EX, 4 cyl.) transmission makes a noise when it is in P or Neutral position, when in D or other position it does not. I went to a transmission guy he told me the car needs a transmission over haul. What can be the problem, any guess as to how much does it cost & for how long will the transmission work after the over haul? My car has 1,07,000 mi. on it.

 

Go to your local Honda Dealership. They'll definitely know whats wrong with it.

 

I would only take it to a trans or Honda dealership. IF Honda states you need a new trans you can ask them for some assistance through HOA as long as you have the complete service history of the car.

a true trans overhaul is where they inspect and replace worn parts while installing usually a new torque converter and a master rebuild kit. Most likely they will have to rebuild your differential as well.

 

Its basically were they replace all the seals and worn parts, take it to a trans speacialst or a honda dealership, DO NOT do it ur self unless u know what ur doing but since u dont know what a overhaul is, im not trying to be rude but taking a part a auto trans is HELL
