94' Accord LX

I've noticed that recently my car starts to hum around 70-75 MPH. It's not a sputtering of any sort, just a constant kinda high pitched hum which I'm sure is coming from the engine.
I haven't tried using a stethescope or anything but when my car is idling I seem to hear a ticking coming from my 2nd cylinder. It doesn't seem to be from the fuel injector but I might be wrong.
I think performance wise my car can be sluggish at times, like accelerating after stoping. I read through several posts that that's a sign to get your valves adjusted.

I've talked to my neighbor and haven't gotten him to actually check it out but he's going to help me with a valve adjustment since I'm sure it hasn't been done in forever and can't hurt. I also think I'm going to order remanufactured fuel injectors since I have a 94' Accord with 170,000miles on it.

Car consumes barely any oil, and passed Emissions test with flying colors recently.
New spark plugs, and gaskets on the valve cover.


Any other suggestions or confirmations of my possible diagnosis?
