buying a jdm car. can i do something to get it registered.
I want to know if there is some sort of way to do this legaly. Not swapping vins or anything like that. Is there a cut off date or anything, just some input from californians that i see driving those jdm cars.

if you plan on commiting a crime don't tell everyone on a public bulletin board that you plan to do so. there is no spot for a vin number on a jdm dashboard so chances are a cop wouldnt even notice it. if they did notice it, you would probably get your car taken away.
how do you guys do it legit. i perfer doing it legit. but when i was searching around i keep seeing most people doing the vin switching. so what other choices do i have. thanks for all the inputs.

There's companies that'll make it so it can pass cali smog and everything'll be peachy. Last time I checked for a skyline it was upwards of 45 grand AFTER import costs and it arrives in the US and all...doubt it's much different.
Also, search, there's a thread somewhere around here that tells u about a loophole in cali's laws which allow you to register it in a different state or some **** like that (think it's a company that registers in a different state for you).
Do a search, it's floating around here somewhere.
