Default aem cold air to short ram...

I'm buying an aem cold air intake from a friend of a friend (cheap) and I was wondering how easy it would be just to make it into a short ram, since it rains really hard here in Louisiana and the streets get flooded during certain times of the year. I know its just going to involve cutting the intake where it starts to bend downwards but is there any wiring for sensors that need to be relocated if I were to do this? Any help/advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

there shouldnt be any sensors that need relocation. Ever consider a bypass valve?

I would just get a bypass valve but I don't want to risk it... the roads here can get REALLY flooded in just a few hours, and I just bought the car. As far as sensors, I thought there were some that measured the flow of air into the tb? Not really sure, I've never head an aftermarket intake, its just what I've been told.

Youll be fine sensor-wise.

I'll consider it.. I'm getting it for hella cheap anyway (Eibach prokit, kyb gas shocks, aem cai, all around a year old, all for $250). I should have it in 2-6 weeks, I'll post again or contact you when I get it. Are the intakes identical for 92s & 97s?

They are not identical. However, they are very similar. I'm sure you can make it fit ok. Especially if you have already relocated your battery.

I put a short ram AEM on my sisters 97 civic and it threw a code, OBD2 civics have a sensor before the TB. I had to reset it by pulling the battery. I dont know about OBD2 accords.

My accord has no sensor before the throttle body atleast I dont think so unless one of the 2 pipes that hooks up to the intake has a sensor on the other side of it.
