Default Honda front windshields same as windshields by PPG??

The installer I called is telling me that the glass from PPG is the same as the glass that I would get at a dealer. Can anyone confirm this or not? I called a dealer and they couldn't give me an answer either. I got a crack that is bleeding pretty good that's running almost straight across my windshield and need it replaced ASAP but I don't want any cheap glass that's going to break again on the smallest hit by a rock. Thanks...

PPG, AP Tech, and a couple of others are Honda OEM windshields

The "replacement" windshields are fine.

It just won't cost $500 or say on it.

If insurance is paying, get the Honda glass.

Pat, who raised hell and waited two weeks just so his windshield would say on it

Installed, it was less than my $250 deductable.
And Progressive wasn't about to do it any other way.

On both my '86 Teg and my '89 EF the "replacement" windshields did not fit like stock as far as the mouldings and trim. If my insurance ever buys me glass I'm going to insist on OEM.

Progressive gives me the best rate thus far, but I've never had to make a claim yet.
