Trying to decide if I want an S2k
And in doing so, I call on you So-Cal S2k owners.
I would like to see and feel-out a few S2ks before I buy. Test driving one at the dealership is not as effective as seeing various S2ks and feeling how they drive with different degrees of modification.
I am not asking to drive any of your cars, but I would love to go for a ride at some upcoming meet.
In exchange, both for your pleasure and mine, I'll bring my dSLR gear to take some nice shots of the car (or as best I can).
I am currently an E36 M3 owner and have owned 5 bimmers over the past few years. I want something impractical now, and the S2k has always been attractive to me, so this would help me decide if I want to dump the M3 for one or not.
btw, if you want to see some sample pictures so that you know I'm not just a douche, let me know.

i guess that was sorta harsh. My Gf doesn't think I'm gay though. lol, the color was the only color I was going for in an e36 m3. It's very rare and imo extremely nice in person.
not trying to sell you the car though...
the covina meet sounds nice but i'll be in Vegas w00t

Nice ///M...very rare color.
I had a '95 E36M3 for about 5 years before moving to the S2k. Was a rough transition...the M3 had such good torque and forgiving handling. Having both in the garage would have been ideal.
While I'd never dream of trading the S2k for an M3 now...there are times I sure miss the ///M.

Thats the only thing I feel like I might regret... trading the torque. But I have a Nissan Sentra as my daily. This car will only come out on the weekends and track events, so I feel like when I do drive it, I'll have fun driving it.
I'm not one to drive fast around town, I've had my fair share of stupid crazy driving around town, and I don't do it anymore, so I am not worried about a lack of torque to zip around town in...
but still, there is that feeling that I might some how miss the torque.

One of my main concerns is the lease and waranty restrictions.
I tracked my M3 and I definitely want to track the S2k. I want to know if modifying the suspension will void the waranty or lease in any way.
I'm not much a straight-line performance type of guy, so I don't care to modify the motor. I also do all the work on my car myself, so I don't care if i lose out on oil changes and stuff like that.
Any information on this? It would be my first new car so I have no idea what to expect.

Don't bother answering his warranty question. I answered that for him last night, but apparently, he didn't believe me when I told him that by law they can't void your warranty unless they can prove the aftermarket part caused the problem.
