I dun like backwards.... suddenly Gman has things to hit in wierd places.
I still remember S2K wing flying over the guardrail when it pounded in by the flagging station. Ouch.

I raised the same concern too when I first heard about CCW. But Brian has spent some time running the track in that configuration and determined that it is safe to do so. I'm sure he is concern about safety as much as we do.

Driving the track coutner clockwise is challenging and rewarding, but it does make GingerMan like a lot of other tracks. It now has a couple of dangerous spots. The worst as mentioned is Turn 1. It is now blind and if you oversteer and spin coming out of the turn, you have a chance at hitting the wall.
The S2000 incident still leaves an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Unfortunately, it was being driven by a guy that had mostly front wheel drive experience. Though the backend was damaged, there was no structural damage and the car has since been fixed.
Going ccw, you just have to treat Turn 1 like you would normally treat Turn 11 (which is safer ccw) and realize that you should back it down a little. No sense throwing away a perfectly good day by doing something goofy in a slow turn.
I spent a day driving the track ccw and it was a great deal of fun. Again, very challenging and very rewarding.
