anyother dd/ autocross poll (if you can merge these then do it.
i jsut did another poll about autocrossing you dd's. but now i have a new agurement with the gf. of you who use there dd for autox who has a second reg. car or a way to get to work or school if you break your dd racing.
f@ck her (literally)
...then go autocross
...then if she bitches, find another girlfriend. Seriously. I would absolutely not tolerate someone who continuously second-guesses what I love. Maybe that's just me. Besides, it's not the end of the world to not have a car for, say, a week. It costs like $20/day to rent a car. A lot cheaper than owning/running/maintaining/INSURING a 2nd car.

she can tell me not to race it's her car when i fix my car in the back i will autocross and she know it and is ok with that. but she won;t let me race the dd civic i'm driving now.
I'm a grad student, i live 6 blocks from my office, so I walk or ride my mt. bike daily.
After I blew up my Prelude (highway mis-shift) I bought a 99 Sport Miata for the express purpose of having it has an autocross/track car that I occasionally use to fetch groceries or drive to friends houses etc.
Due to well known oil issues (like I didn't check it) with the car I'm on my second engine. While it was in the shop, I got along fine without my car: I walked, bummed rides, rented one from enterprise or rode the bus/my bike where I needed to go.
My girlfriend co-drives my car, and when I really really needed a car, she let me borrow hers. If we felt like it, we've raced her DD (another Prelude) too.
Its never been an issue with us. Autocross isn't that hard on a car (except maybe the tires) if you keep up with the usual stuff (OIL).
If its HER car, then you'll have to convince her of this...

A. Get your own car
B. Race your own car
C. if the GF has a problem with it, get a new GF
If you don't have your own car running, and are leeching off of her to use her car for daily driving... and you want to use her car for autocrossing... You loose at life. Sorry. She's the one who needs to find a new boyfriend. (sorry, but someone had to say it)

for the record i pay my bill which include repairs for both cars, half the car loan for the new neon(which i barely drive) rent, light heating food. i'm not leeching it's just easier to have things be in her name and when i first moved up here she already had a car. plus i'm 21 and she's 30 so insurance in ALOT cheaper to have the cars in her name with her insurance. and i have my project civic in the back yard. i'm taking the motor out and puting it into her stock civic. so for you ******* know your facts before you talk your crap
gf say "ignorance is ugly"
she likes to have the control and i don't mind. i do what i want if i wnat to bad enough.

Robbin' the cradle...lol.
I can see her disagreement because of the fact it's her car...but in all seriousness...autox isn't that hard on a car at all.
Maybe you should settle this with a good ol' thumb-wrestlin' match.

Kinda OT for a second, but don't want to start a new thread. I bought my DA with some crappy ebay coilovers, and now blown struts haha.
I will be putting the stock springs back on, but can get a good deal on some aftermarket struts that are basically stock style.
Will that put me in a different class for autox if I have aftermarket struts, even if they aren't necessarily lowering or stiffening the suspension?

Maybe you should post in GDD how to argue with your girlfriend, not in this forum.
