B18C5 and OBD1 B16 combo squirting oil!!!!!
ive been building this engine for a long time. and today was the day i was going to put it in my car. the engine is a used b18c5 block with an used obd1 b16 head. i went to start it started great first try, but then noticed oil squirting with some decent amount of pressure. looks like its coming from between the head and block, but i cant tell right where its coming from... i took these pics to help

you can see where the oil is sitting on the thermostat housing. that corner is just about where its shooting out from! has anyone ever had this problem? i dont know if the b16 head was used for a LS/VTEC build before. im using a 2001 type-r head gasket (OEM).
PLEASE HELP

Is the headgasket upside down? Are the numbers on the gasket visable underneath the vtec sel?

i'll have to check to see if i can see the part #. i bought the head from a local speed shop, i dont recall seeing any tapped holes or plugs in the head.

i already replaced the head gasket, my old one was upside down!
so oil isn't squirting out the back!
but know oil is slowly dripping from the flywheel cover!
i swear if i didnt have bad luck, i wouldn't have luck at all!
yes, i know what that means.

There is most likely some residual oil that you see dripping...

That may be a main seal... Take off the dust cover to the tranny and feel around up there...
Did you clean off the oil from the head gasket mishap?

yeah, i cleaned it pretty good. im pretty sure that something is leaking in there. most likely the rear main or the rear main holder. yes, it was a brand new oem seal!
