Default Norcal HC Round 6 Reno Fernley and DIY Info

For those interested in what happened at Reno Fernley, you can go to http://www.k2rd.com/teammidnight/ for the race report. It was quite a hot, hot day, as track temp was around 110 and it was 136F inside the cockpit! We will have more videos and pics soon.

As a participant of this wonderful sport, we feel the need to contribute back into our community. We want to know how many people would be interested if we put out some articles on making $100 corner scales, $150 laser alignment systems and everyone's favorite, $150 splitter. At Team Midnight, we are still looking for the tree that grows hundred dollar bills, so we got all sorts of practical how-to's that won't cost you anything. If the response is positive, we will get started right away.

In the mean time, look us up at the Norcal NASA events and keep the pretty side up!

Team Midnight performance

Holy crap, that means it's going to be even hotter in August! I've been watching the thermometer on their website and it hovers around 100 degrees.

WOW, 1st & 2nd in H4 two days in a row. You guys are AWSOME.

And congratulations to Robert Arguelles on his TWO 1st place finishes. Looks like the rookies were the class of the field at Reno/Fernley.

PS: I want to read your low-buck tech stuff, too.

Thanks for the accolades, but we have to be honest, the turn out was extremely low due to schedule conflicts and the fact that RENO is RENO! The track is like thunderhill when it got started. No facility and dirty. Overall the track has a lot of potential and we are 100% behind their effort!

Glad to hear there is an audience for the low-buck tech articles. We will go ahead with the effort. Stay tuned...

Probably talking about the pro races. World Challenge and Grand Am both ran that weekend, thus emptying the NorCal grids...

If we were running Grand AM or SWC, we wouldn't have been there either. It was FREAKING HOT! The casino and the nice dinners made up for some of it.

Dang. I was hoping that the new section of that track would be cool, but it looked like an autocross course! I got sick just watching. Left right left right, hairpin, left right left right, harpin, stop, barf! ...and in and out of 2nd gear the whole time. I'll pass on that track thank you. It's no wonder why everyone blew head gaskets. Full throttle in 2nd gear for a minute straight = lots of heat, and very little air over the radiator. It really is too bad.

Maybe it was only the config they were running. With all that room and elevation change, I was hoping for a long, fast, sweeping track. Reno-Fernley V2 i think is the coolest, V3 stinks.
