92 teg gsr -> A/C wont turn on
I have a 92 integra gsr.
Compressor is good. No leaks. System is filled with R12.
I just spent the day at the shop and we found that the A/C will turn on if we put a wire from the negative battery post to the 1 wire coming from the a/c compressor. So the A/C does work, but manually.
I cant figure out why the A/C wont come on when I turn the ****. I tested the relays (4 of them) the A/C Pressure Switch, and all the fuses/relays are good.
what else could be wrong? i just want my a/c working.
thanks.

and i took it out when i did the swap, and just put it back in the other day.

Is there plenty of refrigerant in the system? The compressor won't turn on unless it detects a certain pressure. Make sure you don't have a leak and the system is really low now. Find a tester and check. If it needs it..you can pay a lot of money to have it retrofitted/recharged at a shop..or just buy some cans of R12 from someone on craigslist or something for about $10-15 per can and charge it yourself.
its fully charged. i just took it to the A/C shop yesterday and they charged it, no leaks.
It works when its hotwired, but it wont work normally.

I would look into having your a/c system evacuated/recharged. Add in the dye, and recheck the system for leaks.
Is there any codes being thrown?

IF IT WORKED FINE BEFORE THE SWAP THEN HECK FOR BAD WIRING OR CUT WIRES. ALSO FUSES AND RELAYS. BUT I BET ITS YOU PRESSURE SWITCH IS BAB GET ONE FROM THE JUNK YARD. ALSO CHECK THE WIRES/PIGTAILS TO ALL THE RELATED A/C PLUGS ONE MIGHT BE PULLED TO FAR FOR CONTACT.
i think im just gonna wire my own switch untill i can finish trouble shooting this problem. Relays are good, the Pressure switch is good, the A/C button in the car is good (i tried 2 other switches, and same thing) so i dont know.
