I bought 2000 civic si about a month ago and got a good deal on it cause it was a salvage title, dur to it being stripped before. THe guy i bought it from claims that it had a rebuilt tranny put in right before i bought. i lent it to a friend that i noticed drove it in really high rpm ranges (ie: on the freeway he would be in fourth gear at like 80 mph for an extended period of a time), but he didnt accelerate quickly or anything. they borrowed the car for a road trip that was about 2000 miles. then i got my car back and a week later the tranny is completely shot. i dont know if i should try to get money from the freind or if the guy i bought from messed me over by selling me a crapilly rebuilt tranny. can driving the car like that for a short period of time cause that big aof a problem.
