Ummm his insurance should pay for it?
Yes, you can do the bodywork yourself, but I recommend that you get a professional to paint the car. With the help of Misa and Dave, I replaced my fender and front bumper not too long ago. It's primarily just time consuming. The fender has 8 bolts securing it to the body of the car. You'll need to remove the side skirt, and the wheel liner first. Then open the door, and you'll see two 10mm bolts. One will be underneath the side skirt. Three will are visible when you open the hood, and two you'll have to get under the car and reach up underneath the bumper. The bumper itself the first time will be a PITA. You'll need to loose the bolts around the edge, but the most difficult ones to reach are underneath the headlights. Now, if your actual bumper assembly is damaged (not just your bumper cover, you can avoid removing the screws underneath the headlights by taking out the bumper lense, and removing the two bumper reinforcement bolts on each side.

TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!
I did body work for two years. One thing we were taught was how to spot damage. You could look at your car after you have taken the bumper cover and the fender off, and not see damage. However, you could have other damage that you can not fix, and that you will not see. Your car will forever ride like crap, and the panels will not line up and look like crap.

This guy should be forced to pay for the damage or his insurance company should. I would take it to a professional and get him to have to rent you a car as well
I didn't think aligning the panels was all that difficult, although I do need to adjust mine a bit now that I've had it professionally painted.

No matter how good you may be at body work, if there is chasis damage, there is no way you can possibly do it yourself. What are you gonna do, tie it to a tree and drop the clutch in reverse?
