Default GS-R

I have a 96 GS-R and here are the few mods I have done: DC 4-1 Headers
Cold Air Intake
2.5 inch piping
Magnaflow Cat

I am now stuck. I am not sure what exactly I want to do from here. I am not big on the looks, I want more performace. Any feedback would be aprreciated! Thanks.

cams, retainers, pistons there's a lot of all motor performance parts you can upgrade. But as said earlier you can also go turbo, but depends on what you're are looking for.

based on his first upgrades, hes ready for turbo... no need to dump all sorts of cash into the GSR when he can get comperable performance with a turbo... this is just based on his first mods being a CAI and then a magnaflow cat

What about doing head work? I would tune the entire head to ITR specs including the intake manifold. Im thinking myself about putting ITR or CTR camshafts into a GSR head. Ive read the durations are similar to a racecar but will pass smog and idle fine below vtech crossover. Along with the cams use the ITR dual valvesprings on intake side but not sure on exhaust side. ITR heads are factory ported and polished, so doing that would also benefit. Hope I was some help, the greatest info Ive ever found over Type R series is "best motoring international DVD's= type r documentary". Id rent that along with the book "honda/acura performance by Mike Kojima" you can find that off Amazon.com for like $12. It is priceless information on the endless possibilities on tuning honda motors from super all motor builds to using nitrious, and even a great section on turbo sizing. Well worth the money.

the duration of a ctr cam is NOWHERE close to that of a racecar...so thats some false information...moreover...the factory port and polish on the type r shouldnt be that glorified as its VERY mild...if someone wanted real performance out of their gsr..tuning it to ITR specs would be a waste...the ITR head is mild. The main areas that Honda focused upon are the valve seats and bowl not the port volumes. ..hell it doesnt even flow as well as a k series and would you call the kseries a "racecar" ?

lol all this is true, and why would want to tune it to itr specs. thatd make you like a tr. i baught buddy club cams cus i saw a graph proving better gains than ctr cams and itr. last time i checked they werent to much more expensive either

go turbo, it's that simple
a few things you can do before that:
fuel pump, injectors, FPR, ecu tune, suspension, .... then turbo
