Default Another racing question.

If I enter Solo II comps, I'm going to be keeping my rpms up by 5-6000 correct? Will I have to do any repairs I would not have to later on down the road such as replacing gaskets that blow? Or normally does that stuff just not happen? I'm about to go out and buy some extra stuff just to be ready and I wanted to know what will happen ahead of time. Thanks!

if i understand what your asking, in my experience i have had no problems with my motor in that range. usually it's between 4.5k and 7.5k for me. i am very **** with my maintaince, oil and suspension up keep. i have seen no adverse affects on my gsr, it's what they were made for, so have fun

me too. I second that.
keep an eye on oil levels, you can lose a quart within an hour of hard hard driving depending on track, driving conditions and motor health.
I would check the valve clearances more often than suggested for a stock use, but still, the gsr/itr motor is built for this use, they are wonderfully crafted machines.

I'd recommend changing your oil often! The extreme being right before, and then right after your race. You could also get the oil tested to see how it's performing, and if there is anything wrong with your internals... I don't think it's too much... Oils cheap.

Mobile 1 10w-30 (5w-30 in summer) tri-synthetic all the way Change it every 2500-3000 miles right now. I'm going to take my teg over to a few people that race these to help make sure I've got it tuned correctly and maybe show me a few tricks. I keep up on everything. How often would you guys normally change your oil if you raced track 1-4 times a week?
