Default CHEATING when TIG welding..haha

Ok so a fellow came to my shop today and told us that the reason why another shop in Wisconsin can't really weld as clean as our welding is because we use a "SPECIAL" type of additive......HOLLY COW was I ROFLMAO!!! I said to him: WTF are you talking about dude.... it's all about timing and heat control!!! he kept on saying that this particular shop told him straight up that we are using a CHEATING additive to make our welds look they way they do... I got so fed up with this dude and I called the COPS on him.... hahahahahahaha ....... J/K...

below is an example of what they were flaming us on... HOLLY cow...what a tripppp.. is there really an additive??? if so let me know so we can improve even more...haha!!!

I can see it in the one pic , the craters from each time you let up to fast on the heat and then move over , try to get that effect by dipping also is that like a finish pass ???

Honestly it does look like a third pusled pass with no filler to smooth things out.

I think he meant to say that you were "rocking the pedal"...which in welding wonderland means you are a cheating *******.

the original cover pass was also pulsed... I like to bevel the weld and do a REAL backpurged root pass with little to no filler rod. Then go in and add a cap.

he "hot lapped" it to make it look "purty", in his defense, the pass on the flange looked "OK"

That "hot lap" woulda been way nicer if the spacing was tighter....

Guys like this is the exact reason I don't hang out with a friend that was a welder....the dude would incessantly walk-by new cars nitpickin on the welds, freakin psycho, he is totally gonna end-up being lonely and bitter with his overacheiving welding stories.

Thats what makes some of the weldors here good, they don't bullshit, but they also don't slam a weld that's anything besides absolute perfection.

Anyways, if I need some nice tig welding, I have some idea where to go now. Just get the dyno now. And FWIW, most ppl in wisconsin are retards. It must be the air.

btw, what's the other shop's name? One reason I ask is because that's actually slander, telling a customer **** about a competitor when it is really a lie.
