ok i own a 98 rs im at 130k miles on it ive been having problems with my tranny/clutch for a while now dont know witch one i should change first or where the problem lies, 3rd always grind and now i have the same prob with 2nd oh and sometimes its a bitch taking out of gear to change gears so im thinking of changing both clutch and tranny and i was told the gsr tranny would gv me a bit more accleration speed so my question is what type of clutch i should get gsr or ls and do i need to change my ecu if i change the tranny?

p.s.
never changed my clutch and when i came to change my tranny oil there was none! last time i pay the dealer 4bills for a 99 point inspection. basterds!!!!

the clutches are the same from ls to gsr, so that doesn't matter. but yes a GSR tranny will help out.

 

Your clutch is hydrolic and the symtoms you have can be caused by low fluid or leaking clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder. Always check the simple solutions first. Did you use Honda MTF, and how long did you drive it without any fluid in the tranny?

 

dude you guys are quick thank u so much!! ya i had to change the clutch master cylinder it was leeking behind my peddles i did that and bleed the lines but the prob was still there thats when i decided to check out the tranny fluid i guess it was my fault not the dealers so i screwed my **** up that way huh? oh and i only use genuine honda fluids and parts four quarts last time i filled her up (tranny) ok sweet ill just grab a stage two clutch thinking act or exeedy..any suggestions.. i think i drove about 40k miles without oil in the tranny or oil leaking .

 

No problem, the tranny should only hold alittle less than 3 quarts, open your fill hole and let the excess drain out.
