front swaybar neccesary?
Car is: 2000 Civic Si, H&R coilovers, Kumho 712s.
Well one of the endlinks that attach the front swaybar broke, so my front swaybar is now disconnected. I have noticed now that my car will oversteer instead of understeer. Like going into the same corner at same speed, with front swaybar it will begin to understeer so I will slow down untill the car gets going the right way again. Without the front swaybar my back end will slide out so I will just countersteer and floor it. I feel the car handles better and quicker without the front swaybar connected. For instance with a bone stock Si on a track, I think I could turn quicker times without the front swaybar in. Is this just me thinking this or has anyone else thought this? So if I am correct, why put in a front swaybar or at least as big a front swaybar? Also, would removing the front swaybar have a similair effect on the cars handling as upgrading to a stiffer rear bar with the same front? just wondering

If you are driving the car at it's limits, you would NOT be able to turn a better time without the front sway bar.
Late brakeing, early apexing, high speed corners, these are the places where you really need it.
You really should have it on.

Getting a stiffer rear bar will be better than removing the front. You want the car to be more balanced so you need more roll resistance in the rear than the front, but would would you want to make your car have more body roll. Sway bars are cheap, just throw in a fat rear bar and you'll get neutral handling with a littel oversteer and much less body roll.
