Default (SEARCHED)*****B16a2 Vs. Poorman's Type R Boosted?????????*****

Ok I blew my Boost Ls set 2 days ago. As Of Now I have a Complete B16a2 head. So Im just going to buy a complete Block and retune. What I want to know is which will make more power and be safe.

B16a2 Stock Boosted Or Poorman's Type R Boosted????????????

My Stock Ls made 267hp on 12psi and I really would like to be at 300hp with a different set up. Im Not really sure which will make power.

poormans type r ='s b18c (gsr) bottom end and a b16 head or a type r head.... and for the politically correct people, the right compression and cams, etc for that

But for your sake, i would get the b18c bottom end if you could over the 1-6...

if you blew an LS at 250 WHP chances are it was improperly tuned, and a GSR block isn't going to fix anything. My advice would be do an LS/VTEC setup and get it properly tuned with the $$$ you save over a GSR shortblock.

First off, what part went boom?
GSR bottom ends are much stronger and you have the addition of oilers that your LS currently doesn't have. So first off, how high to you honestly rev. the engine. Anything over 7k, grab the GSR.
I'm finishing a build on a GSR/B16 setup and plan to push 550hp threw it.

When you say it was tuned...how exactly was it tuned and what kind of monitoring equipment and computers do you use?

Im using Hondata S200 for tuning. I was tuned at 12 psi. I turned the Boost up to 16psi and never ran over 7k. The Ls swap was bought from a Shop that didnt know the milage. I had it boosted for 6 months. And was Tuned By Stoney at Velocity Performance in Dallas, Tx.

None of the above...

B16a head
GSR block
LS crank

=LSVTEC without having to run the oil line

You can rev an LS bottom just as high as a GSR bottom end.

...Just get ARP rod bolts.

exactly get the gsr block and reuse your LS crank if it's still good.

2mm longer stroke = more tq

LS crank/rods won't fit in a B16A block without special pistons with a raised wristpin location.
