I would venture a guess there are at least a 1000 people making over 300 hp reliably on everything except D series...

I meant stock block... 300 hp is very commonplace these days. So maybe not 1000, but a lot. I'm not going to have to go count threads am I?

Yepper. 300whp on OE B,H, K and F series shortblocks is the norm these days and with all of the tuning options (DIY and Tuners) a reliability issue shouldn't be a problem. 99B16Si busted ringlands due to a tuning issue not the horsepower limitation of the OE parts.

nonvtecD,
Look for my 300whp stock block SOHC thread soon

Those two phrases don't belong in the same sentence.

i think it honestly depends on the motor and what shape its in pre-boost. I had a stock gsr last one day before ringlands cracked and had a stock b16a on 20 psi (sc61) last about 6 months.

Bone stock b18c1, second setup, third turbo, 59,2xx miles, has been making 300+ since last September. I don't get on it that much, but do enjoy it at the track. Currently, I'm a hair below 330 whp.

It's Craig's from Epic-Tuning. I know it went 11.8 and is daily driven

I find this rather odd - standards for a stock-block B-series is much different than a D-series.

If the 300whp stock B-series lasts 6 months, its not an issue. Mission accomplished. If a 250whp D-series lasts 6 months, its a piece of **** and the owner deserves to get his ***** cut off. What I like even more is the low-hp stock d16's are making more torque than even some built B-series.

I shouldn't be surprised though, its a well-documented phenomenon - its called the H-T Bandwagon Effect. lol

300+hp honda drivers......Are you guys running the boost that makes 300+ hp every day or are you turning it down and then turning it up for the track??

If that makes any sense

However, my goal is 309whp

My B18b has been putting down 308whp / 266tq for over a year now. She's currently gong LS-Vtec and going to bump it up to ~350whp. All stock minus ARP studs.

*sigh*

Tuning doesn't consist of waving a magic wand, how many LS's have we seen turn sleeves into shrapnel now?? It's inevitable, you push an OEM application to extremes, stuff will break ..eventually.

300+ WHP out of a daily driven Honda is not that uncommon. My H22 set up with 8 psi has got to be around 300 WHP, just haven't had time to get it dynoed. No boost controller here, so I'm running that everyday. I did have it tuned using Uberdata. It has a fairly conservative tune in it now which I hope increases it's reliability.
