what's a good tire size for the 16" jdm itr wheels?
I just purchased a set of the 16" jdm itr wheels and was wondering what tire size would be best for them? I'm not really looking for a beefy set of tires so I came up with these options..
So far I have these choices:
205-40-16
or
205-45-16
Thanks in advance!

205/45-16 or 215/45-16. Either one will work. Both are within 1 percent of the stock outer diameter and neither one should rub.
Decide on what kind of tire you want to buy, and see what it comes in. Some tires come in 205/45, and others come in 215/45.
205/40-16 is too small. That's for pre-'96 Civics.

Not necessarily. The type of tire (make and model) is much more important determinant than the tread width. A stickier tire in 205/45 has more traction than a tire that's not as sticky in 215/45.

I run a 215/40/16 on my JDM 16's
works great for me. But I have a GSR. Since JDM R have lower gear ratios than me the bigger OD works for them. But I didn't want to go bigger OD than stock GSR. the 215/40/16 is slightly smaller that OEM GSR. So in a way, its like lowering the gear ratios. Just a tiny bit though.

we're using the oem usdm itr tranny on the white itr and jdm 16's. 220whp.
the oem jdm 215/45/16 is excellent and we've been very pleased with advans in that size, but given the option, we decided to go a little wider: 225/40/16.
the car is quite low and doesn't rub.
