Spoke with AEM regarding 3" CAI for GSR's Need H-T Member help!
I spoke with AEM today and they agreed a GSR with R cams should be using a 3" intake. Unfortunately they don’t make one for the GSR manifold. They said that if they get a big enough response (market=$$) than it could be considered. I suggest all GSR owners with R cams and/or bigger and running the GSR intake manifold should drop AEM an email if you’re interested in such a product.

I for one would like to see this product come to be. For those of us that like the torque the dual stage manifold affords us, coupled with an adequate 3"intake would be a nice alternative than going the Skunk2/ITR intake manifold route and the associated cost that come with it. (intake manifold $300.00, ecu upgrades $200.00-300.00 plus labor cost if one cant do this him/herself). Besides, I think AEM has some quality products and they would be one of the few companies I would trust to (R@D) and pull it off.
Ericks Racing ran some pretty impressive times (I think fastest all motor NA car currently) using the underrated GSR intake manifold.
Thanks,
Chris
Can a Moderator make this a sticky for awhile? Thanks

I think the comptech intake for the R is 3" in diameter. this is for a short ram though, but you can use it in conjunction w/ an icebox or your stock airbox for cold air.
I just so happen to have this comptech arm and filter for sale if you're interested.

Just get an ITR or Skunk2 intake manifold...you should have one anyways if you're upgrading your cams
Just as he said:

I'm sure you could go to shop and have them mandrel bend some 3" piping. Then, just pick up a replacement AEM filter for the TypeR pipe.

I like the sound of the ported dual stage,I wonder if that with 3 inch intake piping and that porting would work out well.
