New Clutch Kit
I have a 00 S2k with a pretty f***ing annoying clutch buzz. I have decided to go ahead and get it replaced and was wondering what clutch kit would give me the most bang for my buck. I was looking at the ACT and Centerforce because they seem to be in the middle price range. Is it worth spending the extra loot for the Exedy hyper single clutch kit or the Hard Top Guy kit? Any suggestions would help. Thanks.
I am loking at maybe going with a different clutch as well and would like to point out that some clutches may hurt your pressure plate etc... What else is there to consider, other than price, when purchasing a new clutch for our cars..? Anybody...
Thanks,
Thanks,
The exedy hyper singles do not last very long at all. The hardtopguy kit is just the ACT HDSS.
I always recommend the Competition Clutches setup. I use their clutches on my car and love it. I have the ironman with 460whp and it doesn't fail to grip at all. Not to mention it has a softer pedal than stock. They're still not that big yet so many people don't know about them.

really? Why is this?
I've not had any of their hyper single clutches, but I was very pleased with the 3 other clutches I have purchased of theirs (2 organic full-face and 1 ceremetallic 3-puck)

So if I was planning on leaving my S at stock hp, what stage Competition clutch kit would you recommend? Also, would you recommend the Competition flywheel over comptech or fidanza lightweight flywheels?
The stage one or stage two would suit you well.
The competition flywheel looks similar to the fidanza but it may have certain modifications to it. I use the competition clutches flywheel and ironman without any chatter at all.

That looks like a nice kit for a good price.
Only concern for me would be the aluminum flywheel compared to the steel. It is probably unlikely, but I'd hate to have an Al wheel to crack or explode (especially with out a scatter shield...I like my legs attached)

I do see your concern. The center is made out of steel but the shock will go through to the aluminum.
Here is my honest opinion and why I decided to sell Competition Clutches items:

Well after reading how much power you're putting down from the s2ki post, I guess I shouldn't be concerned. Impressive numbers.
Nice write up too...definitely have this kit bookmarked for my next clutch job.

Thanks, we are going for even more to help promote the company even better. Then detune it for actual use.
Don't be afraid to PM me or anything if you need help selecting a clutch. I deal with more companies than what I have listed on there. I just like competition clutches the best.
