prelude wont start, dash lights dead, battery/fuses ok
92 Prelude Si 5 speed
I was driving along, and all of a sudden my car shuts off, motor and radio and everything. I tried turning the key again while I'm still rolling and nothing happens, so I pull over. My windows still worked, lights and signals, but not the radio. Also, when I turned the key in the ignition, nothing came up on the dash, no lights at all, no sounds. When I turned the key to start, it was completely dead. No clicking or cranking, not even a sound. I left it overnight because it was late, and when I went back the next day, the windows and lights no longer worked. Battery was still fine, 12.5V. But I took apart the covers to the steering column/ignition assembly, and after pulling on some wires to try and identify them, I got the lights to work, but no windows. And like I said before, no radio, which would usually come on when key was at ACC position.
The battery is fine, and even if it wasn't I don't think it would make my car turn off the way it did. Would a bad starter or alternator cause this? I checked all the fuses and they seem to be fine, and there is voltage at the starter and alternator. Because the outside lights and signals, and my windows still worked, I'm leaning towards a faulty ignition switch, just because of the fact that the radio won't come on like it did before and none of the dash lights or sounds come on, which are both directly controlled by ignition position.
I appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks for any help.

i thought this was only on the newer preludes and other hondas? also i did a search and couldnt find any 4th gen prelude recalls other than exterior lighting stuff. does that recall apply to earlier preludes too?
