What's the best way to cut and shape plastic? (Material on our oem mudguards)
I need to cut a section off the two front mud guards so they can fit over my sideskirts. I have a template cut out of the sideskirt shape that i'm going to cut on the plastic mudguard. What's the best way to shape/cut plastic? I want it to look oem, a dremel might work but it'll make the edges jagged, anyway to fix this? any other ideas would be great
you can dremel it and smooth it out. i cut plasitc with a dremel and it's not haggard after you smooth it out. maybe cut then use regular sand paper to smooth?

What did you use to smooth out the corners? and what grit did you use on plastic?
When you used the dremel, did you use the cutting wheel or did you just sand to shape?
Thanks in advance drew

there was this attachment that i used that was like a cylinder piece. i'd just use a cutting wheel and cut a little less than what you want and go over it at a lower speed or by hand with sandpaper.

use a dremel. leave about a 1/16th inch more then you need. sand it down with some sand paper, and wetsand it with like 1000grit paper to get a smooth look. you can even put a buffing tip on the end of the dremel and buff out after wetsanding.
this should give you a finish similar if not shinier then the plastic itself
