auto transmision problems
I have a 1992 prelude si automatic, it has 94,000 miles on it.
When i first got the car last year (73,000mi) i had problems getting the car into park and drive, the shifter needed to really be jammed to get it into park. The problem went away and seemed to work fine until now.
Yesterday while putting my car into park, it would drift backwards, and i would have to use the emergency break while shutting it off, it worsened and the shifter now will not go into park, or drive, if i shift into any gear it either goes in reverse or in neutral, it will not go forward even when in drive. The shifter is real tense and is hard to move it through the gears.
Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?
Please help!

probably the syncros, go to aamaco, or any transmission shop., to warn you they usually charge you an arm and a leg to even have the ranny looked at.
FIrst you need to have the shifter cable adj. then change you tranny fluid only use honda atf.......have you ever slamed it in to park when the car was still moving or for that matter drive when it was moving backwards?????
Last summer, I took my car to a garage where they checked my fluid. Because I don't know the full history of the car they said it looked clean like it had been changed.
I have never slammed my car into park, reverse, ect.
How do I adjust the cable and is there anything i should be looking for while doing this???
thanks
