Default URGENT!!! Loud "POP", then white smoke from vacuum plug!? URGENT!!! Please help!!!

Hey guys.
Long story short:

d16z6 is in, went to start, the second it turned over there was a loud "pop" around the IM, then I saw this little plug on the back of it leaking out this white gas'y/smokey stuff, with an electrical burn type smell.

The motor has been sitting for about 1.5 yrs, but we turned it over by hand a few times before we tried to start it, and it was NOT seezed or anything. just as smooth as my perfectly working a6.

Is there supposed to be a vacuum line that goes there or something?
Need help fast please! Call me if you can/want to: (850) 322-2641

I don't think so... The FPR has it's line in the front/top part of the IM. It's plugged in already.

Its where the purge solenoid valve gets its vac from. You probably just saw fuel mist, from the engine kicking back some. Its normal, but you need to block that up.

Nope nothing bad. It sounds like the pop you heard was the typical POP when the engine spins the wrong way for a Sec, Which is gonna force whatever gas is in the current cylinder back into the manifold.

But yea with that open you have a pretty big vac leak. So ether hook it up to the purge solenoid valve, or cap it off for the time being.

Yeah, if it's running funny, that's your prob. put your finger over it and you could immediately hear a diff. if it's bad enough!
