Default Running Rich

I've notice that lately I have gotten really shitty mileage. And also, there is excess oil coming out of the exhaust. Is running rich a bad thing for the engine. I heard somewhere that its bad for the engine and converter. Someone please set me straight. I have a 2.5" pipe from the converter to exhuast, but no intake.

Please help, thanks.

Default Re: Running Rich (Type R1)

Running too rich will foul your plugs quicker as well. Honda's run rich from the factory though, but not as rich as yours sounds. Maybe get a fuel controller of some type. I know mine was running rich before I got the car and VAFC tuned with R cams. What have you done to the car. Maybe something else needs replacing that works in conjunction with the fuel system. Check the maintenance stuff first. Are you getting good spark? Hopefully something I said will help. Good luck!
